UX|UI Case Study

Rise & Root Co.

Rise & Root Co. was originally a website for a locally owned landscaping business. However, communication was faded away and I never got to finish. So, I designed this quick new logo and business name to be able to showcase my work. This is a marketing & design case study for a mock-up landscaping business.

Defining the Problem

According to ConsumerAffairs.com, there are nearly 642,000 landscaping businesses in the U.S., as of 2023. To stand out in the competition, a local landscaping business needed a website facelift.

Problem Solution

The solution would be to the display of portfolio images and improve accessibility to the website. The original font and logo was difficult to see due to contrast. Since it is a single page website, the idea is to put the beautiful portfolio images as the main focus, the personality of the business owner as the second part, the great reviews as a crescendo, and a contact form.

Logo & Font

To create a planner that truly stands out, I conducted research on competitor apps to identify overused design patterns and overlooked user needs. Many apps looked like clones, with a check-mark logo and the same interface of soft pastels. This branding is based on time, and forward-motion elements.

Font & Color Scheme

The color scheme is more futuristic than the soft pastels of the competition. Since the world is moving toward a tech wonderland, the calming teal and forward-thinking purple, these cool colors were chosen. For font, I kept it clean and simple with Poppins.
